How-to Govern Data
How-to Govern Data is a theoretical and practical Data Governance Course which covers all the aspects concerning Data Governance contained in the DAMA DMBOK V2 in detail, providing techniques for all the activities and templates for all the deliverables referenced in the text and context diagrams, and in some cases, also the inputs.
The DAMA DMBOK provides context diagrams and lists of WHAT Activities are performed and deliverable that must be produced, but does not address HOW to go about this mammoth task.
This course starts with how to determine a Data Strategy, and ends with how to embed Data Governance in your organisation. This is important because all Data Management Knowledge Area strategies must align with the Data Strategy, and must be measurable to ensure that the business requirements are being met.
The course instructs on the formulation of the appropriate Principles, Policies, Procedures and Technology (P3T) for all the Knowledge Areas which guide the organisation’s Data Management and all the data people.
Templates for all the deliverables which are performed during the class are provided, and there is a practical exercise where you apply what you have learned to your organisation.
This course also provides the knowledge you need to pass the CDMP® Data Governance Specialist exam. (We offer a 3 day exam cram course Data Governance for Certification, but the practical aspects are greatly decreased). The material to be examined is:
